This friendly and welcoming café is a great little spot to visit for breakfast, lunch, or dinner as it’s open and serving all day. As part of the Hotel Ocean, you can find the cafe along the Great Yarmouth promenade, meaning it’s central with great views. The cafe serves classics including jacket potato and paninis during the day, with mains from grilled fish to steak, all boasting excellent quality and taste. You will be something for every family member to enjoy at Cafe Ocean.
The Beach Hut overlooks the sea, close to Britannia Pier. This cute cafe is friendly and welcoming, serving various specialty dishes, including gourmet burgers, salt beef bagels, and clam chowder, along with wine, beers, prosecco and a variety of cocktails. If you prefer to visit for breakfast, the cafe also serves classics like bacon butties and full English with marvellous sea views. So whichever time of day you choose to visit, you’re in for a treat.
Pamela’s is a local and well-known fine dining restaurant with both a Cocktail Bar and Champagne. The venue serves distinctive and unique modern British cuisine featured on a constantly evolving menu that takes into consideration the seasons. Customers can enjoy fantastic food, signature and classic cocktails, and fine wines whilst receiving the outstanding service Pamela’s is known for. Guests are asked to dress up as there is a smart casual dress code. Reservations are also a must as this place is popular, so be sure to call ahead.
The bold blue signs are the first thing you will notice about Chico’s. This popular seafront restaurant specialises in fresh and tasty seafood serving lobster, mussels, surf and turf, amazing desserts, and more. Much of the produce is local and seasonal, so check with the restaurant if you have something specific in mind that you want to sample. Chico’s is another place where making a booking is advised to ensure you get a table, but it’s a wonderful local Great Yarmouth spot to try.
The Shed is a quayside restaurant that is literally in an old converted shed. The space may be small and quirky, with a relaxed atmosphere, but the seafood is outstanding, as are the free-range steaks and homemade desserts. The venue is owned, managed and staffed by friendly locals who focus on quality and relaxation over the rush and bother. Definitely one to try when you have some time to spare.
